LipiView

LipiView, the first of its kind, is a diagnostic device for patients with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), linked to Evaporative Dry Eye, the most common type of Dry Eye Disease.

LipiView provides detailed images of your tear film to measure the thickness of the lipid (oil) layer (responsible for lubrication and tear evaporation). It’s painless, takes about 5 minutes, and all you do is blink normally. This lets your doctor to measure lipid layer thickness between blinks to determine the extent of MGD. LipiView is the diagnostic first half of the LipiFlow treatment, which uses controlled warmth and gentle pressure in order to unclog blocked meibomian glands.
